Mr. Watanabe joined MGI from Mitsui & Co., Ltd. in December 2025.

He is focused on startup investments in biotech, healthcare, and other emerging sectors.

Starting his career in Mitsui & Co., Ltd.’s Corporate Development Business Unit in 2023, he worked on portfolio management for buyout funds and venture capital funds at Private Equity Division.

He holds a Master’s degree in Life Sciences from Graduate school of Arts and Sciences, The University of Tokyo.
